Equality through Education and Development

Emthonjeni

Who we are

Emthonjeni has initiated many projects and aligned it with organisations that are already successfully in place. We are totally involved in generating the necessary funds or resources to meet those needs. By enlisting the help of the greater community we give them the opportunity to be a part of something that is for the greater good of all.

Vision and mission

Vision

That people have equal opportunities to achieve their full potential and contribute to the social and financial wellbeing of their communities.

Mission

Equality through Education and Development.

Job Creation

Project Intombi

Because of cultural-based discrimination such as stigmas, taboos, and misinformed traditions, women are not being empowered and educated about menstrual health. Disposable feminine hygiene products are often not affordable for women. Reusable feminine hygiene products are an eco friendly, sustainable option.

Vegetable Gardens

We consider this vegetable garden to be an extremely beneficial initiative as it addresses the very real and practical nutritional needs of the aged.

Knitting and Sewing

The vision is to provide vocational training and employment opportunities to unemployed women.

Bakery

The bakkery is a community, community supported, self-sustaining micro bakery which produces fresh, high quality, healthy products

Recycle Swop Shop

Enana Recycle Swop Shop is a “give and gain” initiative whereby the community of Zandspruit Informal Settlement has the opportunity to collect recyclable items such as glass and tin in exchange for much needed items in the shop.
